We have had excellent turnout during the week but especially on Saturday's. Thanks to all that have made it thus far on either your volunteered Saturday rotation or if you have been helping during the week. For those that have not made it, please get up here and contribute wherever you can because before you know it, everything will be completed. Due to the great turnout, much continues to be accomplished. This last Saturday we had between 25 & 30 workers
Insulation in the kitchen and handicap rooms complete
All backing in kitchen complete
Floor covered/protected for drywall installation
Most of electrical completed in main lodge
Staff cabin electrical completed
Staff cabin stairways completed except for additional Gravel & tamping
Floor was installed in the staff cabin
All girls cabin exteriors stained-complete
Trenching started for lower septic system
Grading begun at upper parking lot
Foundations for new saunas poured
There was additional grading and trenching done these last few days during the week and 5 septic lines out of seven are ready for sand base. The sand has been moved for easy access so we are hoping for a great turnout this Saturday the 24th of June so we can get an inspection next week and final these trenches and then dig and prep the last two.
The current status of each are is as follows:
Main Lodge:
- The exterior body has been caulked and painted. The trim and doors need to be painted.
- The kitchen passed the combo inspection and has been insulated. The drywall will be installed and before this coming weekend.
- Met with the contractor supplying the kitchen equipment. We measured the walls and floor space to make sure all will fit. Freezer measurements finalized.
- Most of finished electrical is complete in the Sanctuary. Sound system/projector, etc at a later date.
Staff Cabin:
- This has been our main focus due to the building permit expiring on June 30th. We will have a final inspection on the 27th.
- The electrical is 100% complete both inside and outside.
- The flooring is complete both wood and vinyl.
- Installed risers on exterior steps and a graspable handrail.
- Cabinets and counter tops will be installed on Thursday this week.
- Final plumbing will be completed on Saturday this week
Excavation:
- Grading has been and continues to be done in the area of the new septic fields. This is all prep work that needs to be done before the drainfield is installed.
- Parking lot near caretakers cabin is nearing the final planning stage. we started grading last Saturday.
- Backfill on the Southwest corner of Lodge. Now the grade is about 8" below the patio slab on West side so you can walk with ease from the Lodge to Staff Cabin,
Grounds:
- Retaining wall (boulders) for above mentioned backfill on SW side of Lodge.
- General cleanup of brush, trash, duff, firewood. (On going focus of the Saturday crews)
Baths:
- Sauna plans were approved and permit obtained.
- The footings and stem walls have been poured.
- The slabs will be poured this week.
- Framing of the sauna's may be as soon as this coming Saturday
